We are so excited, Our oldest Jacob was baptised today July 29, 2007. We are so proud of him, he has been asking us if he could be baptised for about 1 year now and we have been putting it off just to make sure he fully understand what it meant. Well today when we got to church he said I want to get baptised today, so we said O.K. We felt as if he really was ready and today he was his spiritual birthday. We hope that our families and friends will read this and see the pictures.
Today is also a big day for Elexis, she decided to ask Jesus into her heart. She decided that she loved him and he loved her and that she wanted to ask him to live in her heart so I (her mother) had the privilege of leading her through the pray of salvation. Her Daddy was happy for her although sad that his beautiful wife got to lead both children in that wonderful pray in his absents. I know that both my children's hearts are pure and right on but we continue to pray that they will see the truth and light that only comes from Jesus it is far to easy to be lead astray.
It's kinda funny as much as we would love for this to mean there lives will all of a sudden be changed in a visible way, like they wont fight anymore, they will always put each other first. So on and so on it doesn't really happen that way, they are still children and human, they will still talk back and have to be reminded that isn't the way your talk to your parents or any adult, they will still fight with each other and get put in time out. But now they are covered with the blood of the Lamb and able to share with other how they are covered by Jesus love.
I have to share one last thing that I thought was great. Out of the mouth of babes, Jacob about 4 or 5 months ago was yet again talking about baptism and expressed that he didn't think he wanted to be baptized because if he had to go into the baptistery that everyone else got there sins washed away in wouldn't it make him more dirty because he would get everyones sins on him. We had a nice talk about how the washing away of his sins wasn't done by the water that was a symbolic washing away the real washing away of his sins was done by Jesus. I totally can see where he would have thought that by listening to us adults. Well as I promised I'm done have a great week and maybe write a quick comment about how your baptism changed your life. I will in another post.
